Pentasa Suppository 1g (Mesalamine) is a medicine used to treat Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. It is used when the lining tissue of the inner rectum becomes inflamed (proctitis). It helps to reduce symptoms such as diarrhea, bleeding, and stomach pain by reducing inflammation in the bowel.

Pentasa Suppository 1g (Mesalamine) is only for the rectal route and should not be taken orally. It must be used under the supervision of a doctor or healthcare professional. Stay in a lying position for at least 15 minutes after the insertion of suppositories. The dose will depend on what you are being treated for, but take it exactly as your doctor prescribes. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early, your symptoms may come back, and your condition may worsen.
