Sparta 200 Mg (Sparfloxacin)

What is it prescribed for?

• Bronchitis

  Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. Sparta 200 MG Tablet is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.

• Community acquired pneumonia

  Pneumonia is an infection of the air sacs in the lungs (either single or both lungs). It can be bacterial and viral. Sparta 200 MG Tablet is used to treat pneumonia caused by bacteria.

• Bacterial infections

  Sparta 200 MG Tablet is used for the treatment of bacterial infections affecting different parts of the body.

Major & minor side effects for Sparta 200 MG Tablet

• Sensitivity to sunlight
• Diarrhoea
• Nausea or vomiting
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Loss of appetite 
•  Stomach pain
• Skin rash
• Constipation
• Joint pain
• Mouth ulcers

• How long does it take for this medicine to take effect?

• You will start to feel better in 2 to 3 days after taking the sparfloxacin tablet. But finish your entire course of treatment, even if the condition gets better.

• How long do the effects of this medicine last?

  The effect of sparfloxacin tablets lasts for about 12 to 24 hours and then you may have to take your next dose as directed by your doctor/pharmacist.

• Is it safe to consume alcohol while taking this medicine?

  Interaction with alcohol is unknown. It is advisable to consult your doctor before consumption.

Allergy

Avoid taking Sparta 200 MG Tablet if you are previously allergic to it. Serious allergic reactions to this medicine are rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulties, etc.

Tendinitis or tendon rupture

Sparta 200 MG Tablet can cause muscle damage especially in old age. Do not use Sparta 200 MG Tablet if you have tendonitis (swelling of fibres that attach bone with muscles) or tendon rupture (a partial or complete tear of the tendon- the tissue that connects muscle to bone).
