Itrop Plus Eye Drop (Phenylephrine/Tropicamide)

Itrop Plus Eye Drop is a medicine that helps to increase the size of the pupil of the eye so that eye examinations can be carried out thoroughly. Itrop Plus Eye Drop also gives relief from eye pain by relaxing the eye muscles. This medication starts to work in minutes, and its effect usually lasts 24 hours or sometimes longer. It is advisable to inform your doctor if you continue to have blurred vision, sensitivity to light, or dilated (increase in size) pupils several days after your examination.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Common side effects of Itrop Plus

• Stinging in the eyes
• Blurred vision
• Eye pain
• Increased intraocular pressure
• Eye irritation
• Ocular hyperemia
• Conjunctivitis

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

Itrop Plus Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines: Itrop Plus Eye Drop 1 and Itrop Plus Eye Drop 2. Phenylephrine is a decongestant while Tropicamide is an anticholinergic. They work by making the pupil of your eye larger and relaxing the muscles in your eye. This allows proper examination of the inside of your eye.
